Imposter!

This Bee Fly (Bombylius major, I believe) overdoes the mimicry a bit by overbuzzing, by which I mean he doth buzz too much (more loudly than "real" bees). I noticed the proboscis and thought this was a moth. (I'd been perplexed by the much larger moth that looks like a hummingbird while in Austin.) Nope. A fly. A parasitic one at that. (These flies prey on bee larvae, eating food provided for the bee larvae as well as the larvae itself. Allegedly. Cops and John Walsh claim so. Now let's bring these cowards to justice!)
