Pond on June 6 before the second blasted raccoon attack, which claimed the life of my last honkin' Apple Snail. Though there is still an ounce of optimism, we haven't seen Lil' Q-bert nor Jean Pierre all day. Bing and Mason seemed in good spirits, though, and I only found one dead one-inch fry. The plants got all wrecked again, but there's some relief in the lack of fish remains anywhere near the pond. Above: JP, QB, and Bing with some of the larger fry (one-inchers). Below: R-bert (center) and friends. (You can also see my new trouble with aphids on the lily pads. Started anti-aphid treatment today.)

Above: Stryper the one-inch fry, named for the three black stripes on his left side. Below: Testanera, named (in Italian) for his distinctive black head. He's my favorite because his coloring distinguished him from the beginning, even when he was still mostly see-through.
