Tadpoles
About a week ago, I added three tadpoles to our pond. They're crazy-huge (about four inches long, including the tail) and plump as can be, even though they're still about two years away from becoming frogs. The two larger ones have little half-inch (or smaller) legs forming under the bases of their tails.
Above, you see them in the bag before I released them into the pond. Below is a night view by flashlight. These guys are nocturnal, but they can often be seen lounging around in algae by day. You can see that it's algae bloom time, which is just peachy for these wiggly little algae eaters.
